LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

Landscape architects analyze, plan, design, manage,
and nurture the built and natural environments.
Landscape architects have a significant impact on
communities and quality of life. They design parks,
campuses, streetscapes, trails, plazas, and other
projects that help define a community.

GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE

Nature can be harnessed to provide critical
services for communities, protecting them against
flooding or excessive heat, or helping to improve
air and water quality, which underpin human
andenvironmental health. When nature is harnessed
by people and used as an infrastructural system
it's called "green infrastructure."

RESILIENCE

Resilience is the capacity of a social-ecological
system to absorb or withstand perturbations and
other stressors such that the system remains
within the same regime, essentially maintaining its
structure and functions. It describes the degree to
which the system is capable of self-organization,
learning and adaptation (Holling, 1973; Gunderson
& Holling, 2002; Walker et al., 2004).
