What we do

The ‘Ecological Landscape Design Laboratory’ analyzes the dynamic relationship between humans and the ecological-social-economic environment surrounding them in urban-rural-coastal areas to create a resilient ecological space. Multi-dimensional education and research on resilience design techniques are being conducted based on the analysis.

In addition, we develop an ecological landscape system, which is a solution to climate change adaptation and carbon neutrality, through industry-academic linkage. By introducing this into the field and virtual space, we experiment with the effect for the promotion of social-ecological functions and improvement of ecosystem services in the entire process of analysis-planning-construction-management.

생태조경설계연구실은 회복력 있는 생태공간 조성을 위해 도시-농촌-해안 지역에서 인간과 이를 둘러싼 생태-사회-경제적 환경 간의 동태적 관계를 바탕으로 리질리언스 디자인 기법에 대한 다차원적인 교육과 연구를 수행하고 있다. 

또한 산-학 연계를 통해 기후변화 적응 및 탄소중립을 위한 생태조경시스템을 개발하고 이를 현장과 가상공간에서 실험하고 있다. 특히, 생태학적 이론과 과학적 데이터를 근거로 한 시•공간 디자인 시뮬레이션을 통해, 설계 단계부터 시공 후까지 생태계 변화를 예측하여 지속가능한 사회생태시스템 구축을 위해 다양한 해법들을 모색하며 조경의 지평을 확장하는데 관심이 있다.
